a bit sleepy

I deserve a pat on the back. Last night, being the adult that I am, I attended my scheduled sleep study appointment. I've been very tired for the past few months so I decided to do something about it. I was hooked up to over 20 wires and monitors while they watched and listened to me sleep. The technician would only tell me that I can snore loudly. I have to wait about 10 days to hear from the doctor. I was afraid I might have sleep apnea like my parents and my brother, but now I'm not so sure. During my parents sleep study they put a cpap machine on them in the middle of the night. They did not do that for me. I guess I just have to wait to see what the doctor says. On a lighter note, I'm beginning to feel a little better. I spent most of Christmas day in bed sleeping. We went over to my parents for breakfast and to open gifts and then I came home and took 3 or 4 naps. The best part was that Mikee worked his butt off cleaning the house while taking care me. He did ALL of...

It's in the Air

I can hardly believe that Christmas Day is nearly here!! Tomorrow is Christmas Eve!! I always get so excited around this time of year! And even this year when there are only 2 (yes I said two) presents under our tree (which by the way only has 1 ornament on it cuz Mikee wouldn't get the xmas boxes down from the attic). And they aren't even for me! And I'm still excited about Christmas! It must be in the air! My gift from Mikee is visiting Sarah in San Diego for New Years. I'm looking forward to going out there and just relaxing with his sister. So far our plans include playing Mario Party, playing with their new Wii, and enjoying pizza. I couldn't be more excited! My gift for Mikee was getting him to Dillards to buy new clothes. He got 2 pair of pants that are 3 sizes smaller!!! And a hoodie sweatshirt and a long sleeved shirt that are 2 sizes smaller! He was so thrilled to be into smaller clothes. This Weight Watchers thing is really working for us. It has been ove...

Busy, Busy, Busy

It has been a busy weekend. Mikee had to work until 9pm on Friday! That's over 5 hours past his usual dismissal time! Saturday, my parents and Shaylee came over because their realtor was having an open house to sell their house. No luck yet. On Sunday, Mike went golfing with his dad in the am. Then Mike and I finished writing our List for Chirstmas. Later this week, our goal is to accomplish at least half of it. And that afternoon Bud (my f.i.l.) volunteered to take our picture for our Christmas Card. He took some amazing photos! It's going to be a difficult choice for the card. Bud took us to the White Tank Mountains right before sunset yesterday. He probably took over 30 different poses and scenes. I love them all! So, be on the lookout for our choice in your mailbox soon! Love ya :-D

Counting down

....only 19 shopping days left to Christmas! Mike and I are still working on our homemade gifts for his family. And haven't even began to think about my side of the family. Our gift to each other is a fun filled trip to San Diego for New Year's to visit his sister. I'm so looking forward to going! ....our weight continues to drop, too! Well, actually this week at weigh in we both had a gain, a minimal gain. We've just recommitted ourselves to the plan. We took a Sharpie and labeled all of cartons in the cabinet and fridge. Our goal is to walk at least 3 days this week. So far, we've walked zero days. Mikee's total lost is 24 lbs and mine is 20.4 lbs. So, we've proved that we can lose weight and we're anxious to lose more and more! ...only 11 days of school left until winter break! What can I say, teachers always look forward to winter vacation! I'm looking forward to having 2 weeks off with Mikee ! Love ya! Amanda :)

The Joy of Xmas Lights?

Well, I finally convinced Mike to hang up our lights. We tested the strands. One of them had a section out, but we thought we had enough without it. So, Mike used the ladder and hung the lights on the hooks he put up last year. He had them all up within 20 min. Then we decided we should just go and get a few working strands. Upon our return...he went to plug them in and discovered he had the wrong end to fit in the extension cord. Boy, was he frustrated! So, I went to find an adapter but had no luck. When I returned he had the lights half down and was beginning to put them up the right way. When he tried to attach the new lights we had got this morning, we discovered the prongs wouldn't fit into the old strand. Mike reached a new level of frustration. We ended up with 2 extension cords to get all of the light turned on. Mike would not let the lights win. We have blue icicle lights around the front of our house and even white lights on our 2 bushes. The joy of Christmas hasn't d...
It was a bit chilly yesterday, so we decided to put Gus in his sweater. He usually HATES his sweater so much that he figured out how to take it off by himself. He usually has it off within 20 minutes. Not yesterday! We put it on him around 5:30 then we left to go to dinner around 6:30 and he was still wearing it. We figured when we came home that he would no longer have it on. Boy, were we wrong! He was still snuggled in it after 3 hours. We ended up taking him for a ride and he was so cold he didn't even try to feel the breeze on his face like he loves to do. It was only 50 degrees last night, but for our desert dog it was too much! :-D Love ya!
Isn't Mike the best looking man ever? God, I love him! This pic was taken on Thanksgiving Day 2006 at Mike's cousin's house. I'm so proud of him. We have been doing Weight Watchers for about 10 weeks now. He has lost 26lbs! And I have lost 21lbs! We are the Incredible Shrinking Couple! We weigh in every Monday night, so hopefully we'll have more good news to post soon. Love ya!
