Winter 09

We made the mistake of letting Abby open up her Snow White baby doll first. She thought every gift after that would also be Snow White. It took us over an hour to finish opening her like 7 presents. It was great. She would have to stop and play with each gift before she would open the next one.

We had Christmas at our house and then my parents came over to open gifts and then we went to Mike's parent's house to celebrate with his sister who was in town. It was a busy day, but Abby had a blast. She figured out that Santa came and he brings toys. Just yesterday, she was saying Santa coming bringing presents. It broke my heart to tell her, no he already came. you have to wait until next year.

For New Year's Eve, we took Abby up to the cabin to play in the snow. She actually liked it this year. She didn't like how her hands got cold, but she had fun walking around and kicking the snow. Her gloves didn't say on very long. After about 10 minutes she said, "Mommy, me carry you?" I said yes, Abby, I'll carry you. She said OK and reached her little arms up to me. It was too cute.

Once inside she wanted to share 'hot chalkwate' with her Daddy. She picked up the cup and took it to her daddy.

The following day, we went to Aunt Bev's for dinner. Mike played cards with the boys and Grandma Irene. You could hear those two laughing and egging each other on all evening. Abby had lots of fun playing there too. She playing with the rocks by putting them in the stack of the train by the tree. She rode her little fire truck car. She played with her dolly. The cutest was when she decided to get in the pot. Grandma called her Abby Stew! I just love that smile!

Making Cookies with DeeDee

On Friday, Grandma DeeDee and Abby make cookies. Abby loved trying to scoop out the dough. Of course, her Mama showed her how much fun it is to eat the dough. As you can see, she thoroughly enjoyed licking the spoon on the way to the cookie sheet. You can hear her actually mmmmmming as she eats the chocolate chip cookie dough. You'll never guess what Abby wanted to use to help make cookies. We made sure that she was the one that got that cookie! After eating the dough, she wasn't too interesting in eating the finished cookie. We gave her one, but when I turned around it was no longer in her hand. Gus or Shaylie gobbled it up quickly. There was no evidence, but both dogs looked guilty.

Look what Mommy found!

I was browsing my photo library and came across Abby baptism photos. Look how small she was. This was Dec 21st, 2008! She was just over one year old. That cute little dress she has one is a size 24 months from Carters. She has always been tall for her age. That she gets from her daddy. What I remember the most is that while she was sitting on my lap like above, she hit her lip on the pew in front of her and her lip started bleeding and she of course started screaming in the middle of the ceremony. That's my Abby. Has to make sure every one knows she is here! Her godparents are my cousin Kimberly and Mike's sister Sarah. We ran into a paper filing issue because at least one of the god parents also had to be confirmed. Only one of our choices met that criteria. ThankS Kimmie!
