30 Weeks and counting

We had our 30 week doctor's appointment today. Everything went well. The heartbeat was 150 again. Our next visit is scheduled for the 18th.

Lots has happened since my last blog. Let's see. I did not pass the one hour glucose test. I had to go back the following week for a fasting 3 hour test. I couldn't eat after midnight the night before and had to be at the doc office by 7:30 am. I had to drink a sweeter drink than the first time and then sit in their office for the next 3 hours. They drew blood 4 times. I had bruises on both arms. I did pass that test! The doc said that I do not have diabetes, but he would consider me to be borderline. So he wants me to be careful with my diet. Sounds easy enough, right?!?!?

We went for a 3D/4D ultrasound on Aug 25th to find out the gender. Our baby is in a breech position. It's butt is tucked into my left side and its head is tucked up just below my ribs on the right side. It is also with its spine facing out. No Luck! We spent at least 25 minutes trying to the kid to move its legs or turn or move or something. Nope! The technician said that there is 50% chance it's a girl. DUH! So, we have to go back for a re-do. Our appointment is next Thursday 9/13 in the evening. Our fingers are crossed! We really want to know if it is a boy or a girl.

In August, my dad and Holi (Dan's girlfriend) came over and painted the nursery for me! It looks great! It is a soft yellow color with an aqua blue strip across the top of the room. My parents and I also got the crib put together. It is oak and it matches the stain that Mike and his dad are using on the baby changing station they are building. We also hung a few giraffe and zebra pictures up. The room is no longer our office, but obviously a baby's room!

I hope to get some pictures posted later. Love ya!

Making Cookies with DeeDee

On Friday, Grandma DeeDee and Abby make cookies. Abby loved trying to scoop out the dough. Of course, her Mama showed her how much fun it is to eat the dough. As you can see, she thoroughly enjoyed licking the spoon on the way to the cookie sheet. You can hear her actually mmmmmming as she eats the chocolate chip cookie dough. You'll never guess what Abby wanted to use to help make cookies. We made sure that she was the one that got that cookie! After eating the dough, she wasn't too interesting in eating the finished cookie. We gave her one, but when I turned around it was no longer in her hand. Gus or Shaylie gobbled it up quickly. There was no evidence, but both dogs looked guilty.

Look what Mommy found!

I was browsing my photo library and came across Abby baptism photos. Look how small she was. This was Dec 21st, 2008! She was just over one year old. That cute little dress she has one is a size 24 months from Carters. She has always been tall for her age. That she gets from her daddy. What I remember the most is that while she was sitting on my lap like above, she hit her lip on the pew in front of her and her lip started bleeding and she of course started screaming in the middle of the ceremony. That's my Abby. Has to make sure every one knows she is here! Her godparents are my cousin Kimberly and Mike's sister Sarah. We ran into a paper filing issue because at least one of the god parents also had to be confirmed. Only one of our choices met that criteria. ThankS Kimmie!
